Default Rear LED turn signal upgrade

This is the stock bulb next to the LED bulb.

Remove the cover with a slotted screwdriver, and remove the 2 10mm bolts.

Slide entire tail light assembly towards rear and change out stock bulb with LED.

Before with stock bulb.

After with brighter, slightly better response LED.

Nice DIY and simple yet noticeable improvement over stock!

What is the LED bulb part number?

Thanks. I was surprised that they used filament bulbs as they used LEDs everywhere else. BTW, these new bulbs did not cause any flashing issues. No need for resistors.

Hey, do you have the premium LED DRLs too with the LED front turn signal?

I was wondering if it will also work on the version without LED front turn signals. No hyper flashing and computer "BULB OUT" issues? What happens if you don't have a rear bulb at all?

Sorry for the questions, I genuinely am interested because I loathe incandescent bulbs.

I have the LED headlight package. I have no hyper flashing with this replacement. I didn't check to see if they hyper flashed or threw a code without the bulb. I would say to do the upgrade and if they act up, just put on some resistors which are available at most auto parts stores.

Thanks for your reply. I am from Australia and I'm hoping of ordering my NX next month. I don't want to use resistors if I can, the idea of having something really hot isn't really great.

The high beam is a halogen bulb if you don't go for the triple LED lights. I assume those triple dots on the back are LED reversing lights?

Yes, those are LED reverse lights. As far as heat, some LED bulbs have the resistors built right in. I believe they are referred to as CAN-BUS compliant.

Those three dots are the brake lights.
The red swish that runs from the boot cover on to the rear fender turns on only with the parking lights and do not light up with the brakes. In fact, during the day, if you brake, only those three dots light up.

^^ correct: 3 dots on each side are brake lights.

Reverse Lights are in the "rear hatch"

Ahh yes, I just did some research.

The 3 dots are brake lights (I believe I see these dots on a Toyota Yaris, maybe similar part haha).

Are the reverse lights LED as standard? I wonder if those who have incandescent turn signals in the front will have error with LEDs. Does the DRL dim with the incandescent and what kind of bulb error does the car have? Is it a computer warning or is it a hyper flash?

I haven't got my NX yet so I'm interested and want to buy the bulbs and everything before I get it

Thanks for all you people helping answer all my questions

Reverse Lights are not LED. They are regular bulbs

I cant get the tail lights off.. I removed the two screws under the plastic cover and it doesnt budge when I pull it back.. Its like there is another screw somewhere and I am scared to pull too hard and break something.. Am I missing something?
