10 speaker pioneer review
Ok, so after sever tests I have come to a conclusion that the pioneer 10 speaker stereo in my NX, is not so bad after all. Coming from a Lexus GS with a Mark levinson, I have to admit the sound isn’t as good but still its quite good. First of all I played around with the equalizer settings, prima, base, etc and also switched on surround, which made a huge difference. I have a huge collection of songs in mp3 and other kind of formats so I basically use USB media. The mp3 which are low bit rate at around 128kbps don't sound good, (in contradiction with mark levinson which they all sounded very good) but all the high bit rate mp3 320kbps sound very good. I also tried some songs which I had in wma lossless format and they all sounded amazing… just like a CD..
IMO what this stereo should have is a better sub woofer...
Finally I know the manual says that it only plays cd, wma, mp3 and aac (apple m4a) but I had to try other formats too, like wav, flac, aif, which are all lossless formats meaning there is no lost data in compression, but as suspected none of them played.

I too came from a GS with the ML sound system. And it's been a huge disappointment. I've played around with the settings as well, turned on surround, adjusted eq and even shifted the balance one notch towards the back. But I think you're right, it needs a better sub...I think if it had one it wouldn't be such a disappointment.

Does the audio system have a fuse or circuit breaker to prevent damage to the speakers at high volume? I tested the sound level up to 40 and it sounded great to me. I’m also wondering what the max safe level is.

I took the volume up to 60 today, but it was a songs intro and it was quiet at the moment...
Does anyone know if the speaker in the trunk is a sub ?
could it be swapped with something stronger ?
