Is this option only available for models with navigation?

I don't have the navigation package on mine and I can't find the option to customize three layout of the screen.

I don't think it is possible on the home screen, no. You can show it, but it is buried in some off the beaten path sub-menu if I recall correctly.

I wish I could replace the outside temp on the small dash screen with the time...

maybe with a software update down the road they will add the ability to show a digital clock on the infotainment screen. Maybe down the road on new vehicles they will replace the analog clock with a smart watch type of face where the user can choose from different clock faces or show other information (ie. weather).

yeah, the 2016 RX will have a digital clock in addition to the analog clock..

I Highly doubt it will be available as a software update as it's actually a hardware update to GEN 9

Guess I'm in the minority here but I really like the analog clock.

Default question on infotainment system settings

I am curious if I can set it up to go to my Home screen after the safety warning. Currently it goes to a navigation screen and I have to click on the home button.

thanks

There does not appear to be a way to do this, even in the "dealer settings" (which I access using the Carista app and my wi-fi OBDII adapter).

Default Start Engine -> Navigation Screen

when we start the engine, it defaults to the navigation screen.
Is there anyway we can bypass this and just goto "home screen " instead ?

I don't believe there is a way to do this. My wife's IS is the same thing. Just gotta wait a second after you start the car and hit HOME. No biggie.

I am the habit now of hitting the Home and Hold button immediately on start up.

Default defalut screen

After you have started the car, what is your default screen? Mine is the map as a fullscreen. The only way I get my home screen (of radio, average mpg, map) is by hitting the home button. it would seem like it should default to my home, not to the map as a full screen. not sure if its me or software issue
