Remote Start with FOB

Remote Start with FOB
I was finally able to get the Enform Remote application activated. So far it has worked really well.
One interesting thing that I came across that I am not sure how many people know , after having the Enform Remote activated, you can then use Key FOB to also remotely start your vehicle. It is funny Lexus does not really mention this or promote it.
You simply press the "Lock" button three times and on the third press you just hold the button down until you see the lights flash an additional time. The car will then start a few seconds later.
Comes in handy now and then when you don't want to use the phone app. So far I have tested it up to 50-60 feet away and it has worked without issue.
Here is an actual Lexus link that explains it as well...enjoy...

The pursuit of F
Was a long shot but I tried it on mine and it's a no go on non-Enform Canadian versions.
Nice find nonetheless and it's now in the Interesting Discoveries thread.

Doesnt work for me?
I tried this, but it doesn't work for me. I have the remote start app activated.
I pressed the lock twice, the car flashed. I pressed and help on to the lock continuously, but the car did not start or flash multiple times before start as described..
What am I doing wrong?

Is it Base Nxt or F Sport?
I have the base Nxt. For me the FOB start does not work. I see a F sport car works [see above CB80923].
What about you RDcrow? Do you have the base or the F sport?
I don't know if that makes the difference. My dealer said apparently the FOB start is not supposed to work in the NXT. [? May be to make money on the subscription for the remote app?]

- Press LOCK (see lights flash)
- Press LOCK (see lights flash)
- Press AND HOLD LOCK (lights flash)...keep holding...lights blink a few times, then car starts.

The cadence that you press the lock button is pretty important. Press quickly and hold the third (or even fourth) press, you should hear 3 (or 4) chirps and then the various marker lights will flash. Couple seconds later the car fires up for 10 minutes or until you unlock the door either by reaching through the door handle or pressing unlock. Note that if you shut it off by pressing unlock and then do not approach the car it will relock on its own after 60 (default) seconds.
Most common reason for not working is pressing too slowly, if you wait to hear the chirp after each press you are likely to fail to start.
Be aware that the fob operation is a benefit of the Lexus Enform Remote Subscription which is comp for 12 months. You pay for what you use, if you like the LER (start/stop, vehicle finder, guest driver monitor and vehicle status) then you may continue to subscribe for $220/year.

Tested mine today with Iphone 6 and took about 1 minute to connect and start. States would run for 10 minutes and then cutoff if not occupied. You can also pull up data like mileage, etc. Very neat application. Like it.
