NX Interesting Discoveries Thread (Good or Bad)

Something to do early on, before you realize you want to change the setting...
preset text message replies (I have an Android phone - Samsung S5)
I looked all over after using one of the default replies so that I can tweak them (there are quite a few slots for preset text messages).
In order to set them, you have to have the phone paired and in the car, then you have to go thru the motions of sending a text to be able to get to the presets and edit them. I wish they wouldn't hide screens like that.
I mainly wanted to edit them so most of them would have an added note that I'm currently driving.

When driving, you get the option to "read" it, then I think it will tell you it can't as you're driving, and then read it aloud for you.
If you're stopped, I think it will display it on screen.
Email notifications are funny though. It only tells me there's a new email if I happen to be stopped and open the email on the phone...not very useful.

I don't have an iPhone, but check out this thread - it says something about enabling notifications on the phone itself first:

I think I read somewhere that the car might not be able to send preset text messages thru the iPhone though.

In iPhone: Settings >> Bluetooth >> [your car's "Device Name"] >> Show Notifications
Thanks very much!

LED Cornering Lights Mystery Solved:
Much like the Triple Bean LED Headlights - the upgraded LED Fog lights on the F-Sport also has 3 "reflective" areas (Front, Middle, and Rear). Easy to see if you get down on your knees and look UP and into the Fog light area. Each of these reflective areas has 1 high powered SMD LED, and I do mean high powered. Each of these LEDs is on the roof of the housing and shines DOWNWARDS into the reflective areas it seems.
When the Fog lights are on the rear LED is on and projects the light forward, when you turn the wheel the middle and front LEDs come on as well and reflect light out to the sides more.
When the Fog lights are off and you turn the wheel at slow speeds or a stop, it seems again like the middle and front LEDs come on and project light out to the sides.
I did take a video, it is pretty apparent to see what is happening per my explanation above, but really it is seeing 3 blobs of light come on and off due to the camera not being able to focus and the intensity of the light.
Works in Park or in Drive (not sure about Reverse at this time).
Here is a picture of one of the SMD LEDs (while turned off), all 3 look the same..

Do your fog lamps function the same way as describes above?
I am just curious because my wife's sales associate and the delivery specialist, are claiming we are crazy and that the fogs only work for cornering in the US only.
I mentioned this would contradict what I've read in previous months from actual owners of these vehicles.
But they are adamant the feature is US only.
Does the Automatic High beam feature affect its operation?
Thanks in advance for any information other owners can provide.
(For the record we have a non-f sport so are only familiar with normal fog light operation.)

Yep, I have seen the light "move" in turns much like AFS on G2 or early G3 RXs. In fact, my wife first pointed it out to me and usually I'm the one that finds these details.

the cabin lacks storage but that stands in stark contrast to the trunk. I've been able to make use of all those little storage pockets which helps keep the trunk clean.

I was able to place a toolset under the cargo panel. I don't have room to put the cover there anymore, but I was surprised I could fit the toolset (I'm the guy everyone calls to fix things...).

Is it just me or does it seem that the hood is somewhat difficult to close on the first try when opened? I noticed two mechanisms to keep the hood closed; the bigger latch/hook seems kind of flimsy. Anyone else experiencing the same issue?

My interpretation of the two mechanisms is not that they're both keeping the hood closed. The front one (away from the passenger cabin) is the handle that you press which is attached to a hook which presses the rod which unlatches the hood.
The latch mechanism is the back one (closer to the passenger cabin), and that's what's keeping the hood down.
