For the first part, I believe what Lexus is getting at is they don't wish for you to drive the car off camber on the side of rocks and canyons. So this doesn't apply.
For the second part, I think they are concerned about DEEP bodies of water, something that would go over the hood of the car and introduce water into the intake or perhaps get water onto the valve cover and short the coils. What he has done in this picture is no different than you driving in severe rain. If our cars can't drive through a foot or 2 of water....this is a really crappy built car.

Just picked up the NX200t F Sport AWD Nebula Gray w/ Red interior yesterday after waiting for what seems an eternity. My wife says I have to be difficult and pick a rare setup! Patience is virtue!

^^^ Triple LEDs look great, but the single projector LEDs look mean too. I have the latter in the IS and after a while you get used to both and enjoy the cars anyway.
