Because that's what the 2015 North American Truck/Utility of the Year is doing, and personally, I think it is.
As I explain over on the Blog, it's not to take anything away from the NX. It's a great vehicle that'll slay in its segment. But why put it up against pickup trucks like the F-150 and the Colorado?
Doesn't make sense to me. How about you?

The pursuit of F
I wouldn't say the NX being alongside an F-150 is "stupid", but if you mean it's like comparing apples and oranges or probably more realistically, David and Goliath, then yes.
I mentioned this elsewhere when I saw the nominations and the NX is really in a different league. The F-150 in the purest sense of the definition of "truck" should win this by a mile, but if other factors such as styling, fuel economy and impact to its segment are factored in, the NX might have a shot.

But also agree with you that some people really have no clue what they want, or can easily be talked into something other than their original intention. Obviously people here on CL are avid enthusiasts and are more targeted on what they like/dislike and want in a vehicle purchase.
