I really like the feature that the RX has, where the outside mirrors fold-in when doors are locked, it makes it very easy to tell if you locked the doors with a simple glance.

Anyone know if the NX is going to have this feature?

If there is an 'Auto' function on the mirror controls then yes it will

Good to see the location of the heated steering wheel function - 1:11 - left bottom corner, below the driver's air vent.
Good find AndyL and good sign the F-Sport will come with this option.

Good overall info, but hmm, this one doesn't add up if you're referring to cargo capacity in liters (seats up). With this number (550 L) the cargo capacity is only 19 cu ft which is just slightly more than the worst-in-class Porsche Macan (18 cu ft). A CT is ~400 L (14 cu ft). Lexus states best-in-class cargo which means at least 31-32 cu ft (~900 liters) to beat XC60, RDX, Q5, X3 etc. which makes sense from the pictures and the engineers stating it's floor depth is only 0.8 inches shorter than the RX's.

Yes, love this with the RX. This feature is there in the NX. Look carefully at 0:59. Mirror is out-of-focus but you see it folded, then folding out.

The cargo space in a RAV4 is 38.4 cu ft. with the seats up, and 73.4 cu ft. with seats down.
This is the best in it's class.

I look for the NX to be about the same.

heh, difference in how they are measured? 555 in EU is a lot.... Rav4 is 549l without underfloor compartment while RX450h is 496l. So at worst (488l), it will be tiny bit less than in RX450h.

Q5 has 540l, X3 has 550l. Evoque 575l.

In Europe, it is measured up until windows, so thats important to note - this is why some manufacturers have some really deep boot with high windows, to get more space on the paper sheet, and this is also why Lexus specifically says it has to longest boot in the class (which is pretty important for actually fitting anything).

That would be nice, but because the RAV4 has a boxier rear over the NX's more rakish/slanted rear window, I expect the NX to be less. From pictures, and from what we know about "0.8in" less than the RX in length, and having owned two RXs, my gut tells me cargo volume will be around 35 cu ft.

Thanks for clarifying this. Strange standard of measurement which in all honesty is misleading and not representative of entire cargo volume (i.e. up to the ceiling). So for instance, based on the EU numbers, the Evoque has the largest cargo capacity which I find totally ridiculous when anyone sees the space for himself. Clearly we see the NX is bigger while the Evoque is just a bit bigger than the CT (second pic)!

as you can see there, Evoque has very high rear windows and thats how it is measured, hence high rating... CT200h has pretty shallow boot (which is also bad), while NX has great boot - it is longer and window is a bit lower so there is more light back there.

I really see little point to these deep boots, they are much harder to use - you cant really stack groceries on top of each other for instance, and you can also stuck luggage up to the ceiling in any of them.

Hope to be going to the mens USGA at Pinehurst in about 2 weeks to be able to see the NX300. Since Lexus is an official sponsor feel sure they will have one there and maybe I can find out more about it.

I wasn't aware that there is more than one measurement method for calculating the trunk size until my research for the IS. So look forward to some actual review which highlights the dimensions in the picture of the trunk. Usually some magazines from Europe and Asia like to do that. The US magazines started to do this for some cars and I find it very useful prior to seeing the actual car in the showroom.

Default NX Commercial Shoot

Not the best shots but interesting to see how they've stripped the car to get certain shots.

Thanks to AndyL who found this Japanese article, we now have curb weight numbers. in line with my personal expectations.

200t FWD: 1710 kg / 3762 lbs
200t AWD: 1770 kg / 3894 lbs

300h FWD: 1760 kg / 3872 lbs
300h AWD: 1820 kg / 4004 lbs

For some perspective:
RAV4: ~300 lbs (140 kg) less
RX: ~500 lbs (230 kg) more
Q5: ~300 lbs (140 kg) more
X3: ~ 200 lbs (95 kg) more

That's pretty good on the weight. IIRC it's close to the RDX and a couple of hundred lbs. lighter than the X3 and Q5.

No problem. Thanks CorradoMR2 for referring this in this thread which will be more visible. The article was found from the blog on MinKara Carview.

Credit should be given to the member called きゃのんGRS214 over there (Kyanon GRS214). It is an article taken from a local Japanese magazine called "Best Car".

http://minkara.carview.co.jp/userid/...blog/33209967/

With respect to the curb weight, on another Japanese source, they are the curb weight for NX when equipped with 18" wheels.

I like the fact that the info on curb weight, gear ratio, etc are always presented in the specification section of the car brochures by Lexus Japan. Variation of curb weight due to additional equipment is always pointed out clearly in the brochure.

As an example, for 2014 3IS, if you add moonroof, an extra 20kg will be added. For adding Mark Levinson sound system to IS, additional 10kg will be included.

This kind of details are not present in US or Canadian brochures.
