Default Care for Black Plastic Parts

When we bought our 2017 NX, the one thing I was not looking forward to was the upkeep on all the black plastic trim. I keep my cars pretty clean, so was thinking nightmares of constantly putting dressing on those parts to keep them looking black. I did some research and decided to try a product called CarPro DLux - a ceramic like coating for black plastic. It's not cheap ($35 for a small bottle) but a little goes a long way. I meant to take a before and after picture, but there was a noticeable difference in the color after - much deeper and darker - see picture and this was just 3 months from being brand new. The coating is supposed to last a year before re-applying, so I will be tracking this closely going forward - hoping it will keep looking nice. Just thought I would share in case someone is interested in trying as well.

I use Chemical Guys Natural Shine. A little goes a long way and lasts me about 6 months. I imagine sun exposure will wear any protectant down over time so YMMV.

I have been using 303 since 2005 on my spa cover with good results.
I like using it on NX since you can't see it! Shines up a bit, but mostly for UV protection.
