Dull chrome on top of car
I just bought a used 2015 NX200t. Everything is perfect about this car bought used except on top of the car the 2 long chrome strips (where you might install luggage racks) has the chrome looking very dull and kind of spotty. I am not sure if it was a duller finish when new and it isn't supposed to be shiny? Is this real chrome or that plastic coating that I have read about? I just need to know the right type of polish to buy to make it shiny again if possible? Or if it is supposed to be on the duller side, then what type of polish to use to make the spots go away Thanks!

I can't speak to the 2015 model but the 2017 model looks more like an aluminum finish than chrome. To my knowledge the finish should be the same between the two model years. I will post some pics when I get some time; if somebody doesn't beat me to it!
Cheers!

My roof rails look more like silver paint than brushed aluminum. The color consistency looks more like paint although I am not entirely sure as I have not looked at them real close.
The color appears to match the front air dam.
