Default Yokohama Tire Warranty program

Hey guys new to the forum...just picked up a '16 NX 200t, Red Mica.

I have always been one to focus a lot on tires seeing that they are probably one of the most important aspects to any car. And after about 200 miles i can say i don't really like the stock geolanders, on the CUV. I am scheduled to bring the vehicle in for the yokohama warranty to replace the tires for something else of equal or lesser value. I am limited to yokohama tires obviously, nd have been looking at different tires to try to replace them with. does anyone have any recommendations? i'm down to three basic choices.

YK580
http://www.discounttiredirect.com/di...=032659&cs=225

YK740 GTX
http://www.discounttiredirect.com/di...=032659&cs=225

AVID Ascend (H rated)
http://www.discounttiredirect.com/di...=032659&cs=225

i feel the first two are only limited to discount tires and will probably be an issue for a yokohama dealership to acquire, so it looks like the Ascends are the most likely candidate. Has anyone run these in the past or running them right now? any impressions? thoughts? likes dislikes?

I'm getting a lot of mixed reactions when it comes to their traction nd reliability. some people get the full 75K miles nd more, others get less than half...some people get great traction in the rain and snow others not...so i just wanted to get an idea before i go in nd they offer the new tires on the spot which direction i should try to look in. honestly i would just take the money nd buy my own tires...buh i doubt they would do that...thank again.

Based on the tirerack.com reviews, the Avid tires seem to be a good pick. It has the characteristics I'd want such as comfort, low noise, longevity, and good traction.

Brw, welcome to the forum and congrats on your NX!

How did You get them to replace under warranty? I think the Geolanders are terrible and would love to try another tire....

Yep the Yokohama's are horrible, which is why I said no to the tire warranty. Going with Continentals once these Yokos are done.

I'm almost at 15K on the Geolandar's and while the NVH is still fine, the loss of grip is a bit concerning. It doesn't take much to get the traction control light going these days.

which Conti's are you going with? I have LX20's on my X5 and they are by far the best tire I've ever owned. Almost 20k miles and still 2/3'rd tread on them..... Dead silent and awesome grip.
