Default Bird poop stain removal?

Bird took a big dump on the front hood of my NX yesterday. Literally had it on for a few hours before i got home and was able to clean it off with some water and a microfibre cloth. The problem is that there's a stain on the paint now and will not come off. I tried some Mineral spirits on it and gave it a good wipe but still there. Researched online and some of the solutions that came up were 1) using compound to rub away the stain 2) wet sand or 3) using a heat gun. Anyone have experience with these? Thanks.

I feel your pain. I had a new accord and the same thing happened to the middle of the roof. I never did get it looking quite right. I tried rubbing compound, which helped but didn't completely hide it. I imagine the paint is different so don't assume you will have the same experience. Honestly, your suggestions 2 & 3 would give me nightmares. If this happened to me, I would find a good professional detailer and if you feel comfortable with their proposed fix, let them take a shot at it. Good luck and please let us know what you decide and how it turns out.

Might want to post this on the detailing forum. You can get some good advice here:

+1 to what GlenK stated. From my personal experience, I've used Mother's Micro-polishing glaze or Scratch Out with solid results but the poop was not sitting for more than a couple hours baking in the sun.

Good luck

That sucks. I got my first bird poop today and glad I caught it in the morning when it hasn't been baked on by the sun all day yet.

Try scratch x then meguiarrs ultimate polish followed by ultimate wax or carpro reload sealant. Always want to protect the paint!
