Can you post a video at WOT? Would very much appreciate it. I want to hear it sneeze!

Before spending money on one of these watch this video:

After watching this and some more research I decided to not bother with this mod.

Any gains of the bolt-on mod category are based off of the butt dyno. These intakes generally make more sound (and maybe like, +2 HP), thus makes your car more fun to drive and "feel" faster. Your butt gets more planted in the seat due to "increased" g-forces, meaning that you have "increased" HP.

Any real HP gains would require a engine tune, fuel remap, larger turbo/supercharger, or NOS. Or just go buy a faster car.

Any software out there for flashing the Lexus ECU in the NX? I'd have fun being able to remap this thing...it feels like there's some performance left on tap.

The 8AR-FTS in the RC200t and IS200t have +6HP than in the NX (total 241HP). The Super GT RCF also uses a 2.0L turbo 4cyl engine that produces 550PS, but yes, thats a racing engine. Definitely capable little engine!

That said.. looks like Vivid Racing has a tuning chip worth investigating.. https://www.vividracing.com/catalog/...151449216.html

It sounds good you can hear the turbo spool and when you let off the throttle it makes a blow off sound that is pretty loud. If I don't want to hear it I turn the radio up. When I first installed I didn't notice any horsepower gains but realized the added power is at higher RPMs. So when I started pushing it harder I do notice a little extra pull.

Sure the “sneeze” sounds cool.. But the fluttering sound we hear after letting off the throttle is obviously the sound of air moving. Since there is not a BOV installed to relieve the pressure, the charged air must be getting forced back into the compressor (turbo) right? Or is there a diverter valve that reroutes the air into the intake? What are functions the 2 tubes leading into the intake?

BPV's (bypass valves) recirculate the compressed air back pre turbo but post maf.

@n1SomeGuy so the sound we hear is the compressed air going back into the intake and not out into the environment?
