Inquired about buying a Canadian NX from Dealer
Here is the response:
Thank you for your interest in the 2016 Lexus NX 200t. My name is Mustafa and I'm the Internet Speicalist at Lexus of Windsor.
Unfortunately we are not allowed to sell you a new vehicle given that you will be exporting it to the U.S.
Thank you for understanding and have a good day.
So why try to buy a Canada NX? Most importantly, their loaded F-Sport Option 3 has Adaptive Variable Suspension where in the US we cannot get that option. Also of note, I estimated it would be about $43K USD after the trip, negotiation and taxes making it a good financial option.
And while this practice of refusing sales based on nationality is illegal so far no one has forced the dealers/manufacturers on either side of the border to comply with the law. Instead, they just lose the occasional individual lawsuit when challenged and continue their protectionism.
