Although an added cost, for those of you who live where winter salt and sand rust the undercomponents and hitches, I have always sparayed my hitch with Line-X or something similar before installing on previous vehicles. Keeps everything looking pristine!

That is a great idea!

Don't Kill the Baby
Yes, I understand that but I just wondered if anyone put it on a 2017 yet. Have you pulled anything with this setup? I've got a 1500 pound Boat /Motor /Trailer combo that I'd like to pull about a mile to a boat launch (and back) a couple times a year. And my misses (who "owns" the NX200T) is a bit resistive; so good references would help me convince her it won't kill her Baby.

thing is, this self install hitch is mainly for bike racks and such. For what you want to do, you'd need wiring for brake lights on your hitch. That part isn't easy if you didn't already have it wired up as an option. There's a thread here somewhere that talks about it.

The Draw Tite Spec is the Tongue Weight is 350 pounds, and the Towing Capacity of this Class 3 Hitch is 3500 pounds. So even if most folks just want to haul their bike around, this is a serious Hitch, and will tow as it's rated well above the NX's 2,000 pound maximum rating.
Both Curt & Tekonsha make a wiring kit for the 2017 NX 200t with:
If I don't convince the misses on a Hitch, I'll soon have to buy another vehicle just to launch the Boat. (We are both tired of mooching vehicles from friends, neighbors, and family to launch or pull the boat.) I did buy a Curt Hitch for my present vehicle and installed it no problem. However, I miscalculated, and the combination of my short Driveway being quite steep, and the lack of real clearance for the installed hitch, caused it to drag on the concrete no matter what angle of approach I tried. So I took it off and gave it (and the un-opened wiring kit) to my nephew => who happens to have the same car and no steep driveway.
So I'm hoping someoone will chime in with some real towing experience on these NX 200ts.
Thanks for the assist.

I tow a 2000 lb boat with my nx! The only problem is when breaking! It wants to push the nx , but no more than it did with my 2 nd gen Rx. Short trips like you plan are no problem for even heavier loads.just be careful. I do have the oem hitch and wiring.
