Lexus factory NX towing kit
I have finally made the decision to install the Lexus factory towing kit.
here are the photos. It looks more sturdy than the aftermarket ones.
I originally had one of the most reputable tow bar installer in the region to have a look at my car and give me a quote, was told the kit maybe similar to a Rav4 and the cost is 850NZD to have it installed, which is about 550USD. But given the wiring and other bits and pieces the installer commented its better to let Lexus do the job, as they have never installed one on a NX.
The kit and installtion costed $1750NZD, which is about $1140 USD.
Its interesting how Lexus says maximum allowed towing is 1500kg (3000lb) in New Zealand (braked), but only 1000kg (2000lb) in Australia (braked)
took some pic of the new LX570 before I left the dealer. very nice interior.
