After reading the posts in this thread, I ordered a set of the door sills last week. They came in yesterday and I lucked out finding a Toyota/Lexus authorized repair service near where I live. They set me up with an appointment this morning and installed the sills for a fraction of what the dealer service quoted to install. They look great. Very happy this topic got discussed!

Congrats!, I know the pictures don't do them justice. They are worth the money for sure, as they add that extra wow factor. Also, the looks that I get when I open my door at work early in the morning when it is still dark out is worth it.

These are expensive for what they are, but looking at the instructions provided (thanks typocl), these are actually fairly easy to install myself as they are truly plug and play...with some crafty wire-hiding techniques required. May need do this after all, now.

Also had these thrown in when I ordered my F Sport. They really do look sharp, and I've received a number of compliments on them. I understand the Hybrid version glow blue, while the non-hybrid glow white.

I am a little disappointed that you don't get matching sills for the backseat, though - even if not illuminated.

Best,

so can anybody confirm if this is plug and play? i am asking this because my experience on my 2008 is350, there was a harness ready underneath the stock sills. so when you buy an illuminated ones, all you have to do is plug it in which takes 5mins max for the complete install. i hope Lexus didn't change that on newer models.

They are not plug-n-play. See message 13 above for a link to the zipfile containing the PDF of the instructions.

My bad, I was using my phone and I couldn't open the file but I got it in the computer now, thanks. Actually what I meant by plug and play is if it doesn't require splicing or tapping. Glad to know that it doesn't. Thanks again.

BTW, the best price I've seen so far is $265 from factorylexusparts.com and they offer free shipping. If anyone knows of better price than that, feel free to share pls.

Yep, as I figured I pulled my passenger side sill OEM cover and no plug. Looking at instructions these will need to plug into the dome lights under the dash board on either side. But I'm looking at pictures of illuminated sills and it going to worth the effort.

thanks

Anyone have pics of the Hybrid blue versions? Also for hybrids is the mood lighting blue to match?

These are not plug and play right? They require splicing under the dash on both the driver and passenger side?

Would these work for a 2018 NX300? I can't source anywhere if anything really changed from 2017.... But wanted to make sure.

As far as plug and play according to the PDF it seems like it is in terms of clipping everything together. Except for page 12 which appears you are taking a wire out and then not sure where it's going on the harness?

Thanks,
-Nigel

Wanted to update. Followed the directions listed here and installed these (same part number for 2018) on the NX. Installation took about 35-40 minutes. It wasn't bad at all. Everything is 100% plug and play and it's super simple to do.

I'll post pictures tomorrow. I do wish we had the option for the rear sills but the fronts are nice. They come on bright when you open the door then dim down at night. They can be shut off completely if you turn the brightness down all the way on the dash at the last setting which in turn also turns off the footwell lighting.

I picked up the door sills online for $265 which is half of what the option would have cost had it been ordered new/from the factory.

Question for you guys
I see there are two part numbers, one for Gas and Hybrid,
PT944-78150 vs PT944-78152

Is the difference in Color of the illumination possibly? I know for Lexus IS models in Japan there is Hybrid version that is lit in BLUE but there is an American version that lights up WHITE. is it the case with these two different part numbers as well?
