Sorry to resurrect an old thread.

We were at the dealership a few weeks ago for an NX owner event. The dealership was giving away $50,000 to one of the first 100 purchasers of the NX from their dealership. No, we didn't win.

Anyhow, the demographic of these NX owners was very revealing. There were a few younger owners that looked to be in their 20's and 30's. But the majority of the owners, and I mean by a significant margin, were those in their 50's and 60's.

I don't think this speaks to the design of the vehicle but more to the cost. Up here in Canada you are looking at $50,000 plus for a mid level NX and with the financing/leasing rates being on the high side, I personally think it us just out of reach of the younger crowd.

did you notice more male or female owners? It seems when I pass other NX owners on the road I see more female drivers. Yesterday I passed 4 and only 1 was male.

There seemed to be a few more female owners. But it wasn't by a large margin, maybe 60/40 women to men.

Early 60's and this is my wife's car and our first Lexus. She was looking at smaller SUV's to replace a Venza and liked this one over the others.

I was there too @ Lexus South Pointe. Alas, I wasn't the lucky winner either..

I wasn't too surprised at the buyer demographic. I would say about 75% of owners were baby boomers and empty nesters. Very few kids were at the event. Agree that at $50k in Canada, this is outside the range of most young families (nor is there enough cargo space if you more than 1 kid).

Default Who's the audience for the NX?

As a NX owner or interested buyer, what are you?

1. Age?

2. Have your own family? yes or no

3. Male or Female?

JD Power used to have demographics of most car models on their web site. It contained a lot of good information. It's no longer there though. Maybe available by subscription, not sure.

I would like to see a poll on the gender of NX owners. Does it already exist here?

I asked the same question in the RX group. Seems like RX+ are more for people with a family.

My wife and I are in our mid 50s. The third gen RX grew enough in height that ingress/egress bothered her hip so we hardly ever drove it, even though we both loved it. We are able to carpool and have always done so on weekdays in a Prius (now an ES-300h) so the RX was just sitting around in the garage depreciating. This vehicle has a much better height for her 5'2" stature so we think we will make much more use of it, and it still has plenty of room for the two of us. I really enjoyed the RX and miss the quiet and smooth ride, but the NX is pretty darn close and a much better size for our needs.

Just me & my wife. Both in our 60's. I drive it 99.5 % of the time for work & by myself. no kids, dogs. Just need room for case of tools & equipment, (mostly small stuff) fits my needs great! Really love this SUV (or do you say CUV?)
