Messages w Bluetooth
Have paired up my wife's phone (iphone5) and I've went to where the owners manual shows to activate messages. Does anyone's iphone work for message notification while on Bluetooth?

I have a '13 GS, and I have the iPhone 5. If it is like the GS it will not read emails but it will read texts. It only read email when I had a Blackberry (and who has those these days?)

I get a pop-up when I receive a text msg (like a computer Instant Message window on your PC). Then when I click "play" a sexy female voice reads the text over the speakers (muting the music playing). I can't send a text back with the car, I have to do it from the phone directly.

Check your BT settings on your phone. There is something you have to set on the iPhone to allow messaging and notifications but I can't remember exactly what you need to select at this moment. Could be as simple as that.

Under your BT devices you should see "Lexus NX" or "Car Multimedia". You'll see an "i" with a circle around it. Touch the i, then turn notifications on. The next time the car is started and you receive a text, it will read it on the screen. Also on your phone, make sure check this: Settings>Notifications>Messages>Show on Lock Screen>ON(Green). If this setting is not on, messages will NOT be sent to vehicle. Emails don't work with iPhones. You won't be able to reply to a text through the screen. You can use Siri Eyes Free. Hold the off hook button down until you see "Mobile Assistant" on the screen. You are now using Siri through the car.
