I would have liked a little more shape to the door panels, and in a perfect world, the center stack would be stretched a little wider across the dash...still seems a little too condensed to me.
so far, NX has far better materials than any of the competition, including spyshots of GLK - while it looks modern, you see plastics everywhere.... NX has most of the interior in leather. It wins automatically.

As to the 8AT, lets see what it actually gets and what are the numbers and how it performs.

As long as it's not a CVT, I'm happy.

I do like the new NX, but I think it's too small for me. I am looking at this, however, imagining what the next RX will incorporate, and I like what I see.

Amen to that. Personally, I'd prefer and 8 speed, but the 6 speed used in Toyota and some Lexus models is a nice transmission.

^^^ CVT we can expect in the 300h though and don't mind on that model as it compliments the smooth quiet nature of the powertrain anyway, based on my experience with an ESh and owning a CT and RXh

Indeed. I don't mind them in a hybrid, as it makes more sense given the drivetrain's capabilities. But in a 2.0t? No thanks.

well, since all this talk about transmissions, it made me think of what transmissions Aisin has to offer.
Aisin has 8 speed FWD transmission already - AWF8F35, thats in RX350 F-Sport FWD.

"We aim to build compact FWD AT suitable for luxury cars that set the standard for the next generation."
In 2012, we developed the world's first FWD 8-speed AT, with a focus on fuel efficiency and acceleration, as well as size reduction to equal 6-speed units.

I am hoping those exposed bolts on the console are just for the preproduction model?

Sypwolf, good find on the Memory Seat buttons.

MPLexus301, personally I don't mind those bolts. They are highly detailed at least.

As for the 8-speed AWF8F35 tranny in the RX F-Sport, it's also going in the new '15 Volvos with their new 2L Turbo 4 cyl engines. If the other article stating the 6-speed for the NX is wrong, this 8-speed could (on paper at least) work with the Lexus Turbo 4.

those "bolts", are designer feature, they are not your usual screws, rather engraved bolts or something like that.

awesome. i am glad they are not skipping on that like the is300 when it first came out

regarding 6 speed vs 8 speed. i guess i might be one of the few who thinks the gain from 8 speed is debatable and whether it's worth it. keep in mind i have owned ls460l and have driven plenty of isf as well as reviewing the latest is350.

gas mileage? what's the improvement on gs350 moving from 6 speed to 8 speed? i don't recall a significant jump.

power delivery might have more merit but at the same time, we don't know the power output and drivability of the nx as is yet with the 6 speed.

for sure though, 8 speed is going to be more expensive than 6 speed. and for this car, i think price point is more important than performance so in that regard i am not holding it too much against 6 speed

Did anyone notice the IS F-Sport (and RC) seats in the NX F-Sport (and same regular seats for the regular versions)?

so far, Lexus has not announced another new sites except for ES in the USA, so NX will certainly be built in Japan. They usually announce building of new factory/expansion 2 years before it is supposed to start.

I saw some talk about this few days back where few people thought it would be built locally...
