The Rav 4 is built in Woodstock, ON; about 1/2 hour from the Cambridge plant that builds the RX.

I believe the Rav4 is produced in Cambridge Ontario, Canada along with the Corolla and the RX 350. The RX h are still made in Japan though.. If they have the capacity, I don't see why NX wouldn't be made at the Cambridge plant either. Maybe in a few years...

The RX H is also made in Cambridge now.

The Corolla is produced in a separate "plant" at the same site.

I don't really like the way these rims/tires look on the NX. IMO the nicest rims are the ones with the black and chrome rims (F-Sport).

Mini-review of the NX at the Australian autoshow. Note the less seen projector beam headlamps.

Found the voice-over in this one amusing.

That is correct. I attended the Lexus Cambridge Plant tour in the past May and they told us they just started producing the RX 450H H in the plant.

PS, I bet the NX in this video has the 235/55/18 tires since (if you observe carefully) you can tell they look chunkier and lower profile.

http://youtu.be/S_TDVDqCFq4

Also, compare these two pics and you can see the first one on the 200t with the machined metal/black wheels has the skinnier and higher profile 225/60/18 Michelin Primacy tires while the graphite wheels on the 300h has the chunkier 235/55/18 Bridgestone Dueller's.

Personally, I hope N.America gets the 235s as it better highlights the sportier, more buttoned-down look. What's ironic is the Hybrid model should get the thinner tires to reduce rolling resistance and hence increase MPGs...
Your thoughts are correct --- thinner tires to reduce rolling resistance and increase MPGs. In fact, my tire shop told me these days, the tires that come with factory usually have lower tread wear because of the same reason. Car manufacturers need a way to boost the MPG figure on the spec sheet.

On another, just learned that NX stands for Nimble Crossover

My 2013 RAV4 was made in Canada so they could produce the NX.

Although it may be technically possible, the Lexus side of the Cambridge facility operates entirely differently than the Toyota side. Had colleagues in Cambridge that had relatives working there; it's a totally different mind set. This was the first Lexus plant outside of Japan and they wanted to do it right. The people, mind set, technology and assembly methods are all different, with an even greater focus on quality. While it's possible, it isn't a slam dunk and you won't see both built on the same line. If they do it the same way that they did it in Cambridge, Woodstock would require an entirely separate line and perhaps building as well. My guess is that volume will dictate that decision; if it turns out to be a hot seller, there may be a chance. But then, they could do this in any other facility in NA as well, if that's the intent.

they wont produce NX in Canada yet, they dont expect that great numbers in NA... and they would have announced production at least 2 years before.

Thanks for the pictures! Now it seems that there are two names for the same white - Sonic White and Sonic Quartz. Actually I find the Sonic Quartz sounds cooler and more dramatic.

spwolf. Awesome find. We can see the 10 colors which I believe are what AndyL confirmed last week. But more interestingly is the color availability of the interior trim and seats. For the synthetics, unlike the IS, no Nuluxe red seating. It's leather. So one can conclude the Dark Rose (Rioja Red) seating in the F-Sports we've seen so far are leather?
