Didn't know about this thread when I got my tint ticket a month ago in SF.

I was running 20% all around and had it for three months.... until... I was stopped on a pretty busy street and got paranoid and rolled down my front windows because I saw a cop in another lane behind me. With my windows rolled down and the light turning green, I just slowly accelerated and the cop pulled me over. The good thin is that the cop did not check the front of my car because I have no front plate haha.

20 days later, I went to the shop where I got my tints done to remove it.. I went in not knowing that it costs $45 was pretty damn stupid of me..

Got the ticket signed and paid the $25. Will be putting my tints back on in a week or two though! Now I'm debating if I should keep my 20% or do 35% or 50%... hmm....

I don't know how much the fine is if you don't correct the fine. Might be cheaper to just pay the fine than re-tinting.

I heard it was around 185 - 250.

I should've asked, but whatever. If it is 185, then I saved myself 10 bucks by removing the tint, paying the fine, and putting the tints back on.

You gotta pay to play though.
