Did you run a basline dyno before the headers were installed?

I've got the dyno with SRT minus SS headers. Will get dyno of SS headers minus SRT. I guess something can be extrapolated from this... definitely nothing conclusive but something to look at for fun.

I know all cars are different but I'm going on the assumption that SS headers will improve power. I think this is a given.

SRT power gain/loss is not conclusive.

BASIS: SS headers improves stock power. SRT is unknown. Stock power is below SS headers.

scientific value?: Zero in real terms as there are too many variables. To me, it has value... it provides something to hypothesize about.

No need for assumption or extrapolation. We dynoed 4 cars with S&S before and after install and several of the cars were re-dyno'd multiple times with different intakes. Net result, SRT had the most gain with the headers over K&N, RMM and WeaponR intakes. As for the benefit of one over the other, the conclusion is the two compliment each other, as you can only intake air as good as you can exhaust the gasses. A restriction on either end, makes judging which mod to do a moot point. You need both for the best power gain.

It's like testing only a front sway bar vs only a rear. The front bar will have the best handling benefit on it's own, but the rear will compliment the overall performance and balance.

Still interested to see the numbers you pull.

Yes def a lot of variables. Using a different dyno or just running the same dyno on a different day or time of day can yield different HP #s.

We conducted a test where one car was re-dynoed several times in an hour. HP would drop on each run as engine temps rose, while intake air temp and other factors also contributed to a loss. Then we placed fans on the radiator and intake manifold for 15 min and netted the highest HP, with an increase of 12HP over the lowest reading.

That's a big variable alright.

Have fun either way.

NOTE - Contributors to the testing were: Lightwave76, redgs4, Tamr_gus98 and RMMGS4

OK way OT
