SJ speed traps
-Posted Speed Limit = 25mph
Walgreens at the corner of 17th St. & E. Santa Clara St. has
a monthly speed trap (going Eastbound if you're coming from downtown SJ).
There's a small Fire Dept. next to it.
- Heading Westbound (between Tully and Senter Road)
Motorocycle radar
Watch your speed
- Heading Northbound (Keyes and 3rd St. 1-2 blocks down)
motocycle squad and/or single patrol vehicle on right hand side
posted speed limit = 30mph
- Heading southbound (10th st. - just pass the 101 freeway underpass)
poasted speed limit - 30mph
Watch your speed
- Corner of Monterey and Curtner Ave. (motorcyle squad watching major intersection)
Again, any give time and any give day of the week.

Thanks for the heads up, I'm currently now living in San Jose and I go around all the time, have no problems with cops yet *knocks on wood*. Saw a couple cops pulling people over on tully, right off tully, and on mclaughlin they have a couple hiding out checking speed or other infractions.

Here's a couple of more that I pass thru on a daily basis since I'm on a roll:
- Heading Westbound (between Tully and Senter Road)
Motorocycle radar
Watch your speed
- Heading Northbound (Keyes and 3rd St. 1-2 blocks down)
motocycle squad and/or single patrol vehicle on right hand side

California is hurting right now and they'll find and think of any excuse to pull your a-- over.
peace....

Thanks a lot for the warnings and heads up on the speed traps.

Sounds like more people are getting popped for front plates lately too. I've started using them again on all my cars. When I owned Porsches I would never consider displaying a front plate of course.

Carpool lanes seem to be closely watched by CHP. Sometimes I see them on foot leaning on the metering light just waiting for a violator. Ive seen them a lot on the 101 Capitol on ramp every other morning.

Just watch your speed in the beginning and end of the month. Because thats when speed traps are out there left and right as i notice. I also notice on all my speeding tickets their either beginning of the month or end. So yeah just take it easy out there. These cops have to meet their quota and they will try and bust you for ANYTHING, such as something simple as a no front plate.

well if we are going to give traps,
ALWAYS stop for pedestrians on Geary BLVD in SF because most likely they will be doing their "fake" pedestrian crossing and you will get pulled over. this is a large ticket amount and a point. Same goes for Sloat BLVD in the sunset
Stay away from Daly City unless you plan to full stop at a red light before making a legal turn. Some say no turn on red too. This goes for Milbrae too.
Dont run reds on Park Presidio on SF because there are red light cameras at every intersection.

Good info on SF, thanks. My wife had one of those chicken-****** fail to yield to ped tickets crawling through downtown San Jose intersection in heavy traffic at 0 mph last year.
