What area?

I will be posting a Body Shop Review thread in the next week.

This thread will be "Specifically" for people to provide "detailed" reviews of shops they have used.

None of this "tell them Joe sent you stuff"

I'm open to any area... I live in San Francisco but I'm always all over the place (peninsula, south bay and east bay)

Look forward to seeing your thread.

If you want to travel a little farther. Preferred Auto Body in Fairfield. They painted my car, parts and a few others cars as well. They are very professional and are top notch.

I use Active Auto Body about an exit away on the 237 off Lawerence Expressway. Ask for Shawn he's the owner, and tell him Manny sent you.

1281 Forgewood Ave Sunnyvale, CA 94089 - (408) 734-3400

I have a review for this place written which I'm waiting for Glen to post. It's top notch!

I just got some stuff done at Crown Auto Body. I had a spoiler and rear bumper painted. The rear bumped had cracks and needed some work. When I got it back I was really pleased and amazed. They actually spent extra time working on the rear bumper. And it didn't take long. Very nice guy as well. Ask for John.

Awhile back I had my front lip, front bumper, and side skirts painted at MS collision on SCOTTS. (NOT MINNIS CIR). The paint did NOT match my car AND I got rock chips within the first week. Needless to say, I will not go back. I'm not trying to bag on them, but I guess I had a horrible experience. The owner was super nice tho.

thanks for the replies. what happened was that i was pulling out of a chevron on lawrence expressway and scraped my front bumper, it's not that bad.

i went to dentrpo to see about that and while i was there about my license plate bolt marks and holes. they would only repaint those parts of the bumper and it was over 500.00. it would entail sand, fill, primer, paint, clear(entire bumper) and buff.

i've been reading and hearing about different things like a respray being 300.00 or upwards to 1000.00. not really a high priority, but i was just curious to know from other shops nearby work

If this is Insurance work, then Akins Auto Body has done several member cars over the past 4 years and they've done excellent work.

For non-insurance work I go to ACTIVE Auto Body near the UPS Hub off of Tasman.

I work at Cisco so they were not only convienent to get to, the shop was also very helpful and accomodating with my special needs and requirements. So in your case I'd say they would be happy to advise you on your options.

It wouldn't hurt to ask for Sean and tell him you were recommended by ClubLexus members either.

Default Body Shops in Bay Area

Can anyone recommend a good body shop to color match my 97+ conversion parts that won't cost an arm and a leg?

East Bay Preferred. Will need the front bumper, lip, and rear bumper with extensions painted.

Thanks!
