26101 VC Modified Lamp Cover Remove Blue Lens Cover.
26708.5 VC Tinted Windows


i was making a U at Stevens Creek / De Anza on GREEN
Cop doesnt stop making a right and i pause in the middle of intersection since 1/2 of his car was already turning right so i don't hit him. he stopped abruptly and told me to go first.

i turn, and he pull me over.

i go... wtf? some sort of police scam? " u stopped at the intersection" ????

i pull into the parking lot of my office and park. (at this point my boss just walked out of his car and he's laughing cause apparently i got pulled over at this intersection 3 times for ridiculous crap.

C: Stay in the vehicle please (Calls for Backup)
C: drivers license and registration and insurance please.
M: handing stuff to him, What did I do wrong?
C: remain silent please, did you buy this car new?
M: yes
C: What modifications have you done to the car?
M: Modifications? uh.. intake, exhaust, suspension, tinted windows
C: what about the blue fog lamp cover?
M: That's called a modification?
C: Yes. That's why I pulled you over.
M: what the..
(backup shows up)

Backup: whats up

C: this guy here's got some pretty modded vehicle, just checking the car out. Sir can you pop your hood?
M: ok (pop hood)
C: Wow, is this custom (pointing to engine cover)
M: the cover no, the paint yes. its painted. is that illegal?
C: are you trying to hide something underneath? I'm not concerned about the intake (<---- WTF)
M: yeah, I'm trying to cover my hideous engine, is that illegal?
C: why don't you remove the cover slowly.
M : removes covers.
C1: looks stock... yeah?
C2: yeah i think so
C3: it looks like it
M: i know so. look i ain't gonna lie. intake exhaust "FOG LAMP COVER" tint.
C2-3: okay. walks around. leaves.
C1: your missing emblems why did you take it off? so you can trick us on what vehicle you drive?
M: i have a license plate. and you can look up the VIN. and no, i got in a rear end accident and did not replace the emblems would you like the shop's phone number?
C: no that is not unnecessary. you sure you don't got any turbo, or what they call it, NOS?
M: no you want to see my trunk?
C: please.
M: here. opens trunk
C: is that sound system loud?
M: uhhhhh..... no are you kidding me?
M: *turns on sound
C: okay. you can turn it off.
C: it looks like you've been pretty honest.
M: ..........................
C: have a seat back in ur car.


10 min later...
I wrote you up for 2 things:
1) remove your fog lamp cover
2) remove your tinted windows
have them signed off, etc. you'll be fine.


btw he didnt see the redouts. otherwise hed give me crap for that too. means GOOD QUALITY VINYLS!

beware... stevens creek / deanza.

first pulled over: i cross the solid white line a car before it turned dotted to make a right turn cause ther was a lot of cars in line for straight and i was trying to pull into gas station at the intersection.
cop comes out of nowhere pulls me over and writes me up for etiher dangerous lane change or driving in the bike lane. he said driving in the bike lane sounds better, but apparently both of those are the same thing. doesnt even write me up for tinted windows.

2nd pulled over: sir you have tinted windows and u didnt stop before coming out of the parking lot. THERES NO STOP SIGN AND NO CARS!
gives me ticket for tinted windows.

so..... are the friggin cops just running out of stuff to do or Santa Clara county is a friggin safe neighborhood that they resort to writing fixit tickets?

enough of my rant.. i was totally late for work. missed international conference call... @#$!@#$@#$.


btw i am a collector of police tickets... thats what. 3-4 in 2 months?

My friend just got pulled over last week for the taillamp film covers on his IS350 and window tint. Cops all over CA have been cracking down more lately.

Blame the budget crunch, they're looking for any kind of revenue.

I don't think that the redouts are illegal, pleanty of cars have all red tail lights and its been discussed in the IS forums before.

I don't think anything he had on was illegal except maybe the tint and if they really wanted to get on him it would be w.e intake he's using hahaha unless his was carb legal

well you cant have any sort of blue lights on a car apparently. I remember getting a fix it ticket way back in 98 for having blue film over the fog lights. The cop gave me grief that only police officers or law enforcement or something like that are able to have blue lights.

I think even having aftermarket lights like fogs are illegal, right? So, I'm sure the blue tint on the fogs are a no no if cops want to be an ***. That still sucks though, if you are going to have to take it off.

wow that sucks, But i found it funny how they accused you of hiding your engine with the oem engine covers and asked if you had turbo or nos


So i wonder if yellow fog overlays are okay? since some cars have oem yellow foglights or a yellow cover lens.

Not sure about where you are, but here in CA, any film affixed/applied to your taillight is illegal regardless of color. Obscuring visibility is key in their definition.

sorry to hear you get a stupid ticket..and I think that sheriff who made a bad right turn is embarrassed so they pull you over and try to chat..lol. and tried to act as a tough cop by finding illegal mods on your car..what a jerk..

Damn that sucks Johnson...I was in that area last weak at the new asain grocery store along DeAnza. Looks like that area is off limits for me.

Also, saw your car Tuesday. We went to grab lunch at Lee's Sandwhich.
