Any recommenations near Palo Alto on good lexus mechanics? I saw that the sponsor is exact motorsports in milipitas, but I'd rather find somebody closer.

Here' a brief rundown on the services I'd like to do:
Front brake pads
Front rotors
New struts ( inc. bumper stop )
Replace lower ball joints
Replace sway bar bushings
Replace 2 engine mounts ( 1 tranny mount )
Cabin filter
Air filter
Fan belt
Check spark plugs
Flush trans
Flush radiator
Oil change
Wiper blades

I'm not really interested in diy'ing it this time. I just want to enjoy and drive my lexus..

thanks!

jeff

The only other recomended non-dealer Lexus shop on your side is Topline, in San Mateo. They might not be much closer than Milpitas if any and they will cost more than Exact.

Exact has pretty much established themselves as Lexus specialists and with labor quotes that the dealers can't touch. All the work you listed they can do. You will find old posts from many who trust their cars with Exact more than the dealer.

You don't have to take my word for it; If you search "Exact" on the NorCal section, you will see that they have been recommended long before they even became a sponsor. People come from a lot further than Palo Alto to have work done there. Sac, SF & Concord to name a few.

I'm sure there are other shops near you that could do the work, but I don't recall any that come highly recommended in the past 6 years that I've been on board.

If you find a shop in your area that you prefer, let us know.

Thanks for the feedback, RMMGS4...

Do you know what their policy on me supplying parts and them supplying the labor?

I don't mind buying parts through them if their markup is close ( 10-20%) to what I can get on the web. Any past exerience would be appreciated!

I stumbled onto this thread while doing a google search for an unrelated topic but I must comment here.

John / Sandy at Exact are 100% standup guys. They are honest, trustworthy and I would hand him the keys to any of my cars (including my 200k Lambo) without hesitation.

amlin423 : Not saying you are lying but we all do miss things and I highly doubt John will not acknowledge a mistake.

As for Orlando, he's also a great guy to go with for tires/alignments since they work on my cars as well. Usually I let Exact do all my mechnical mods and Orlando to do my tires/alignments.

Just my 2 cents,
rick

So how many people have had regular tune ups done on their Lexus at Exact? Please list more experiences about regular maintenance.

Urmil,
a lot of veteran CL members (3-5 years) aren't on the forums much now a days so they might not catch this post. You can do a search for Exact and find a few posts.

I'll be there today at 1pm to meet up for a late lunch with a couple of members actually.

You would be surprised how often some people hang over there whenever one of us is having servicing done.

Been a while since I have been on and even longer since I have posted. Met up with RMMGS4 and Jawnthen a couple of weeks back. Seems the only time we get together is when one of our cars is at Exact.

I go to Exact for maintenance and all the mods that John & Sandy cover and have done so for about 6 years. I have also had the GS and LX aligned at Orlando's shop. You can't under estimate the worth of building up a relationship with a good shop.

We're not meeting for lunch until after 1pm. Probably eat somewhere around the corner.

Call me if you still might want to come down and if we are still there.

Default East Bay Shop For New Springs

Hey folks can someone recommend a good shop in the east bay that can install new springs on my SC430. My usual shop quoted me $875. and I thought that was a bit much.

Thanks

tell John and Sandy at EM that you belong to CL and they'll take care of you.
Just mention my name, "Hoa" aka teeman3 w/ the silver sc430. they did the spring install for me and I was very happy.

Buy me a jack and some jack stands and I'll install them for you ...

If you're really nice, a set of spring compressors too...
