I highly recommend Four B Auto. Owner is David Tran. Very fair pricing. Very competent mechanics.

Here is Four B Auto on yelp:

Default San Mateo Area for general service?

Hi guys:
My very bone stock IS350 is coming up on 60K miles. I've been competent enough to do the oil changes and filter changes myself, but want to outsource the rest.

I am about to buy the 60k service kit from Sewell, so I need a good place to just have them do my spark plugs, brake fluid, and get an honest opinion on my brakes.

Given this will take multiple hours, preferably something very close or in San Mateo.

Any ideas? I have a good Honda mechanic I fully trust with my old Acura Legend. Is his training competent to do Lexus sparkplugs?

Thanks!

Default Shop to install SPC Front Ball Joint

Has anyone with an IS/GS got these installed on their car?

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/clu...0-sc-more.html

It looks like it requires some work to be installed based on the thread here https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sus...s-results.html

I'm looking for a shop to get these installed around the East Bay/South Bay.

Exact or Tire Outlet have experience and are competent with installing SPC parts on Lexus.

install is easy to do... just doing the alignment takes too much time for me.

Default CV Joint/Boot Repair

Can anyone recommend a good shop to get my CV joint and boot replaced? And where can I buy these parts without the dealership prices? Thanks in advance!

Question Recommended shops around San Jose

Hi all,

I just moved from Indiana to San Jose last week and I would like to ask if anyone can give me any good recommended shops around San Jose area ?

I have a 2009 ISF, before I had my car shipped to here last week, I didn't have the chance to drive it for the last two months. Today I finally get to the drive it, but I feel like there are something wrong with the rotors or the pads, brakes stutter when applied. First I thought it is because the car was not driven too often and left in cold weather for a very long time, but after half hours of driving, it was still the same. I have replaced new rotors and pads last year around September (non-OEM), so I would like to ask if anyone can tell me any good shops around San Jose ?

I'm not sure if I want to bring my car to the dealer, since I already have non-OEM rotors and brake pads. what you guys think ?

(All four rotors are very rusted, do you guys think this is the reason cause the stutter ? need to resurface them ?

Thanks!

Drive it around and see if u can get the surface rust off. If not, its going to have to get resurfaced or replaced.
Btw there's already a thread with all the recommended shops. I personally recommend tire outlet, Joseph will take good care of u

I recommend Four B Auto (in Santa Clara). I like Four-B better than Exact. I have been to both. Have a look on Yelp and see for yourself.

I am moving to the SF Bay Area from Canada and I was wondering if anyone can recommend where I can take my IS for regular maintenance.

Bay Area is a little wide..... You may want to provide a bit more on geography. Our thread sponsors, Exact Motor Sports, are located in Milpitas (consider southern East Bay) and they have taken great care of my SC300 (mostly mods and major repairs but they provide regular maintenance services as well....).

Welcome to Northern California.....
