Exclamation Things not looking good:( Need Rebuild....

So, I took my 97 SC300 to Lexus on Friday and now they're telling me that my head gasket failed because some coolant tube in my head is bad All this after I've spent thousands already fixing the heater core, clutch, water pump and other parts that have gone bad over the last year. Someone broke into my car, well attempted at least, and it was sitting for a while, and now it'll be sitting once again until I can get all of this resolved

So does anyone know of a decent place that can rebuild my engine for a good price??? Lexus wants to charge me 3,300 and that's not quite in my budget at the moment. I quit my last job because it wasn't paying jack, and I start a new one on Monday, but funds are definately limited....

Can anyone help me???

Thanks guys, I want to get this car back on the road so I can make it to meets again. You are all an awesome group of people!

Take care,
Mike (97 SC)

Hey man sorry to hear about your SC. Car trouble sucks. I talked to my buddy who has a shop. He told me they can take a look at your car. Based on what you described it sounds like the must have told you they are gonna resurface/rebuild the head. If that is the case they can do the work for you. This is however assuming the head is not cracked. Do you know if it is? If it is cracked well that's a lot of work. If it is not my friend said they can do the resurfacing of the head for about 1500. I will be there on Saturday for an oil change if you want to meet up with me.

Make sure to mention you are the one with the SC300 from ClubLexus. I'm sure they will be able to take care of you. Feel free to send me a PM if you have any other questions.

Yeah, they told me that they need to replace the coolant hose inside the head and to shave the head a little and replace the head gasket. Do they do performance rebuilds? I might have a few more things done while she's opened up. I'd definately be up for talking with your friend. I'll send you a PM with my cell #. Thanks for your response and looking into it for me.
