Meet Feeler Wednesday Night Drag Races

Meet Feeler Wednesday Night Drag Races
Ok this idea has been a long time coming. We have done this twice in NorCal and it has been a blast every time. Some people not familiar with Drag racing might ask: "What could be such a big deal with driving down a straight road just a quarter mile in length?"
Well all I can say is watch out, cause once you try it you may get hooked. I would say for many the exhilaration and rush of running your personal car heads up against another car at maximum obtainable velocity is similar to that of a roller coaster ride and in some ways much, much better.
I can't imagine anyone running on the drag strip for the first time to not feel that pressure at the starting line, and not having their heart race as the lights count down and a nervous / tense grip on the steering wheel, and then suddenly your right foot is mashed to the floor as if you wanted to push it another 6 inches past the floorboard.
If you think this is for you, here's your chance to do it with fellow CL members for a lot of fun and friendly competition.
For those who went to Dyno Day meet, you know that there were many of us that would like to see some of the more powerful cars run on the track to see how they will perform in "real world" conditions. There are several members that feel there may be some discrepancies in the dyno results vs how the cars may perform in the real world. There are others that feel the driver will be the ultimate factor in determining how a car will perform.
I ask that those who pulled good dyno numbers at the meet to take it to the track so that we can truly prove out what is fact or friction.
As far as any others interested to run your cars, you are welcome to join us as well.
Advantages of Infineon
The infineon Raceway is essentially at sea level, which gives your engine the best dosage of dense air.
The typically cool Wine country air combined with evening temperatures are again ideal conditions for fast track times.
Add to this that the first 660 feet of the track is a concrete launch pad and traction is as good as it gets.
Combine this with a Musco Lighting System for maximum visibility during night racing and a Compulink Timing System.
NOW is the time to get the best possible times out of your car as the rain is now letting off and summer has not yet arrived.
Let's do this now before it starts to get HOT !
I am posting this as a poll. There are only two dates in May that are available. The racing is on a Wednesday night, so unfortunately, many of us will need to work a short day, take the day off, etc.
If you are interested in running your car, please post your vote.
If you are thinking about ONLY spectating, please just respond to the thread so we can organize a convoy at the appropriate venues.
The only 2 days available in May are: May 24 or May 31
Please pick either or both dates and we will figure out what works best for most of us.
Note: Those who vote will be listed by screen name.

I don't expect responses to this poll right away since people have to check their schedule and we stil have some time to go before we lock in.
If you are atleast thinking about running or attending, kindly post now though and just place your vote later on.

There will be a lot of people there.
You could find your self paired up with a Mustang GT or you might try to race the police crusier if it's there.
We'll definitely need to line up at the same time so we can run close together.
Those spectating from the grandstands, and those running, it might be nice to bring walkie talkies again.

Either Date.
Either date will be fine. I'll call in sick if need be. Might even be off that day. Don't have my schedule for May yet. Will have to work on launch techniques.

I wouldn't mind going over there for some pre Infineon testing.
I don't expect good times and it would have to be on a Saturday, but I'm game.
