EOS may be over, but we're still doing work. There's still the DVD to release and we have to follow up on advertising obligations with some of the sponsors.
Most of the core members that would go to sears are pretty used up at the moment, plus like I said, we're still busy.
I'll look at the schedule and see what we can do before the season ends.
Others who are interested should definitely show their interest here. Whether you wanna run your car or just spectate and hang with other members, it's always fun.
Those who have never done it WILL learn a lot. Most people don't know how to "really" drive their cars fast.
We can assist in gaining knowledge of launching technique.
Most people who have never done it, never realized how fun it is, and some get HOOKED.
So everyone post here and let's see what interest there is. We'll work on a date depending on how the response goes.
I personally am not up for it until the beginning of November. We've got another ClubLexus activity coming up at the end of October, so it's tough to schedule too many things all at once.

I might be game for the quarter mile. I have timed my old (now sold) '70 Olds Rallye 350 at Fremont (aka Baylands) Raceway ages ago. Used to watch lots of drag races too. I'm curious to see if my GS does hit 14.3 sec as advertised.

The only good part is all other cars will experience similar results as well. If there is any chance whatsoever for a stocker to break even 14.5, it would be at Infineon. Low altitude, cool air, great track surface. These are the best conditions around. When we went up to SAC Speedway, it is often too hot to achieve good times, even at night.
I'll definitely wanna see what my car will run at Infineon. No excuses what times I hit there.

When i went out to sears point last time to race my camaro there was a guy who had a stock 99 GS400 and he ran a 14.62 and he left the car in drive with the traction control on. All he did was hit the brake and rev it up to 2200 RPM. So it would be very possible at Sears Point to see some fast times.
A lot of people at the track make the mistake of burning out through the waterbox with street tires and that slows them down a lot.

OK,
looks like a one shot deal for me to do this.
Here's the story:
1. The Big Lexus race in Fontana is on Oct 30/31, so there are several of us going to that.
2. SEMA is Nov. 3-6 and several of us are going to that.
3. Last Wednesday night to race at Infineon is Nov. 10. After that the track will be closed to Wed. night racing till next year.
I have no idea why racing has to be on a Wednesday, but that's probably the biggest barrier of all.
I can't take that Wednesday off of work because of actvities #1 and 2.
Bottom line is Nov. 10 is my only chance. Hope it doesn't rain.
We're still a few weeks away, but anyone reading this, please target that date as our last chance to do this.
I "KNOW" there are lurkers out there who are just waiting for a date to decide. So there it is. It's Nov. 10 or nothing.
Now if anyone is free earlier than that, please don't hesitate to let us know, what Wednesday night works for you. I don't want the date that I picked to be the only choice, especially because even I cannot commit until about a week or two before hand.
Anyway , time to speak up now if you're the slightest bit interested in this.
Who's interested ?

I'm gonna try to make it.
Anyone read the rules yet? There's a line about All Windows MUST be Clear other than factory spec tinting. Has anyone gone and had any problems? Everyone should plan on wearing pants [no shorts allowed] and bring a helmet if you expect to hit 13.99 or better.
