Default For our NY/NJ brothers and sisters

Just a shout out to our friends and families being affected by the Sandy storm. All my fiance's family lives in Long Island and it's tough being in Florida and not much I can do for them. They are lucky and no one is hurt and none of their homes have any significant damage but I know others that are probably not so lucky. We are a good community on this forum and we should do all we can for our fellow members who aren't as fortunate as us. Thanks everybody

I was gonna start a thread but thought it would get moved to the Northeast section.... anyways thanks for looking out for us Mrd... at one point 90% of Long Island had no power, which is just crazy. My car cover kept coming off and I had to figure a way to keep it on... you guys will laugh but I just placed a cinderblock against the car cover to prevent it from coming off... and there were no scratches on the car afterwards either.

I went driving a few hours after the storm ended and saw this... I was speechless

RI and MA were largely unaffected save for the typical windy storm stuff. You guys in NY and NJ got it bad. My company is a wireless ISP that has a major presence all over NYC, and Seacaucus as well, and it was amazing the impact this storm had. So many people didn't take it seriously and they were unpleasantly surprised. Glad to hear Sandy didn't take any vehicles out of the family so far...

I just got my power back on an hr ago. Sandy was no joke in some areas. I live near the shore and she just had her way with it. The shore and some areas wont be the same again. I just still pray for those families who lost their entire home and some ppl who lost family members.
