Default Poker tournament at Taj Mahal, Atlantic City - 1/15/05

Not a car related event, but I know we must have some poker players and enthusiasts whom we've met in the past meets, so why not start curing the winter blues and gather together down in Atlantic City for a friendly poker tournament?

Well I went there last Saturday for the tournament at the Taj. It was my first time playing live no-limit hold-'em tournament style, and I gotta say that it's a lot tougher than what you see on TV or ESPN. Many loose players love to go into the pot with crap hands like 8-4 or 3-7 offsuit, and some of them bluff too. I'm more into cash games and usually play tight-aggressive in my regular games. At any rate, it was nice to play poker at the Taj casino for the 2nd time. I played 3-6 hold-'em at Bally's the night before the tourney and made off $80 extra. As Matt Damon said in the movie "Rounders" about the game of poker, "It's like any other job; you grind it out"

Here are a few pics I took: One is of the sunset from the NJ Turnpike on the way to AC, the 2nd one of my car in front of the Taj, and the last one of the popular and most expensive set of lights inside the casino (located right above the escalators from the poker room)

Oh yeah, I crossed over the 100,000 mile mark on the ES coming back home
