Default Anyone in DFW enjoy doing GS300 door lock actuators?

Is there anyone out there that gets a kick out of replacing the little motor in the door lock actuator? I believe my 02 gs300 has 3 or 4 defective ones. I am thinking about ordering the parts from eBay but not sure if I can handle this job by myself so I thought I should ask if anyone in DFW would do help me out for a fair price ( if you have experience doing them before).

Thanks

( YEs this post is suppose to have a sarcastic overtone, I doubt anyone enjoys taking off door panels and working with small motors)

Did you ever swap these? I just did my rear passenger door a few months ago. Not much of a hassle, and I've got big hands.

If you still want help hit me up. I'd still like to hear your opinion on my front suspension noise, that I've yet to fix.

Hey sure I would love the help... did you replace the whole actuator or only the motors inside? I got the motors off ebay and am going to go that route. When and where would be good for you?
Thanks

For me it was too much of a hassle to break them down to swap out the motors, besides, the light switch also wasn't working. Replacing just the motor wouldn't have fixed all my problems.

I just coughed up the dough, and replaced the whole unit. Don't know how much help I'd be breaking apart the actuators, but I can help get them out/in.

Oh ok, no problem. I'll probably just do it some random weekend when I have nothing going on and will just use the youtube DIY.
As for your suspension noises, I can meet up any weekday in the Richardson/Plano area between 4:30 and 5pm or we can arrange something on a weekend.
If you still have my #, text me anytime.

Sure, lets have a window actuator-replaceing party.
All we'll need is one person to guide us with the actual actuator removal.
Are you going to replace the motors only or the whole actuator?

I was planning on just replacing the motor, although what would you recommend?

If time allows, I'm in. I've only done the rear passenger door. I would imagine the rear doors are harder to do, due to shape/space limitations of the door.

I think the motor replacement would be the most cost efficient way to go if you have more than one gone out. I think I may have 2 or more gone out, but we'll see after i replace my driver side front.
If you do decide to go with the motors, you should go ahead and order them from the seller mentioned in the "DIY" thread.

I did the cheap fix. Got an extra motor for when the next one goes out. Fairly simple job, the hardest part is getting the price out of the door( ESP the rear). I heard the fronts are easier.

btw, i was going to do the motor swap, but changed my mind. I've got a couple motors, new in box, that i don't intend on using. If someone local wants them when we do the swap party I'll bring them along.

If you guys haven't done it yet I would like to join the party as well. I think all 4 of mine are out. I got the motors and the gear puller.
