Thursday Night Racing/GTG Kennedale
Alright, I'm gonna start getting some more seat time at the track. There's really nothing happening on Thursdays so let's meet up at Kennedale 1/8th mile track on Thursdays. It's just $10 to race/spectate. It opens at 7pm til 11pm I think.

No, this one is south off business 287. The one off I-35 is Northstar. The 1/8th mile is just to practice your launch really and get some seat time in front of the light tree before running all out at the 1/4 mile track.

You don't need to have a fast car to have fun at the 1/8th mile track. On Thursdays, they have bracket racing for a trophy and prizes. If you have an automatic car it's a plus. It's about how consistant you are on every run. They run everything from trucks to minivans. The lights go off accordingly to everyones times versus the other car that they line up with. If you've never done it, I guarantee you'll have fun. Either way, it cost $10 to watch or race. Why not just run watcha bring.

I've seen honda's with fart cans go down the track its all in good fun if possible try to line up with something equal to you. If nothing else you can try to beat your own times my first run was a 9.1 at the end of the night i had gotten that down to 8.5 and did i mention its fun? lol..But its 50miles eachway for me so i dunno if i'll be going this time..

NOt sure how accurate that is i ran 12.8 in ennis and the 1/8mile time read 8.4. According to that site i would have to run 8.2 to get the same time i did. Maybe boost plays a factor in it we dont really get going to half way down the track lol..

Yeah, it's not exactly to the tee but it gives you an idea anyways. Our cars starts to spool halfway down the track unless you get a good launch. Your 60 ft will also tell you how good the run is gonna be.

I'd forgotten how fun it was to run down the track. I left everything including tire pressure (35 psi) as is in street trim. Spinning really bad off the line of course with that tire pressure. My best 60 ft was 2.1, best mph was 98.56, and best time was 8.1, out of three runs. Could have ran more but didn't really want to push it that much on that track. Got to play with the two step and line lock so that was good. Saw Vissi out there and a 1jz boosted white SC (auto). Next time, well see what a lower tire pressure can yield us and maybe some slicks.
