Default Do anybody know what the Legal Window tint is

I know it's 35% but my question is, can the back windows be darker than the two front or is it 35 all around??? I have 20%, so please chime in so I know if I should change it to 35%. Thanks

its 35% all around, but depending on how the cops are in your area they usually only care about the front driver/passenger windows. I had 5% all around on my SUV and always got pulled over but changed the front out to 35% and haven't had any problems since *knock on wood* and this is in Virginia where the law is 50% in front and 35% anywhere else lol with 20% percent you might be pushing it but if you haven't had any problems with it then you should be fine I have 35% all around on my IS and only been pulled over once with a warning

35 will never pass the light test at mva, you're stock windows have slight tint from factory so when you add 35 it's more like 25. Also SUVs and hatchbacks are alowed to have tint on side and rear glass minus driver only for theft reasons so you can put stuff in hatch are that could be seen from outside. Pretty much it's like having a trunk made of glass

Since it's a repair order you could just run your 20% until you get pulled over then change it to 35%. I had a friend running 5% all around and never had any problems but like everyone else said; it depends on the cops in your area.

Also if you are driving around in the day, open your sunroof shade... It allows enough light in so your tint looks legal... But at night, youre screwed lol

I got pulled over too we had 35 tint on it like MDSC said there is a light shade on the stock glass. So we took it off and had it checked by a state trooper and it passed with 50% on the front and we have 20% in the rear.
