Default Thornton Colorado emissions required?

Im moving to Colorado and when I checked there website for Car emissions, Thornton county is not one of them, I just wanted to know if thats really true that not all of Colorado has emissions.

The following counties require emissions testing throughout the entire county:

Boulder County.
Broomfield County.
Denver County.
Jefferson County.

Counties that only require emissions testing in certain parts of the county are:

Adams County.
Arapahoe County.
Larimer County.
Weld County.

You may be bummed... There is no Thornton County, just City of Thornton and it is in the very Northwestern corner of Adams County. Sadly that corner of Adams Co. is essentially in metro Denver, and is part of the emissions testing area. Wish I had better news....

Happy New Year Though!!!

Thornton will certainly require emissions testing.

is your car odb1? then it shouldn't be that bad as long as you have all the emissions stuff in place and the right number of cats (at the stricter stations they will actually count them, its on the sticker under your hood).

Like Ali said, as OBD1, they will not 'communicate / plug in' your car, but there will be a visual check for both Catalysts and O2 sensors, beyond that is just a matter of blowing the correct numbers. (i.e. if a USDM TT supra can pass so can you with similar equipment and tune. Keep us posted when you make the transition north!

All the Best, -

well the JDM swap wouldn't have any egr stuff on there, so yeah if they check for it and can't find it thats about the only thing I can think of. you could get the egr from a usdm gte and bolt it all on that would probably help in that scenario.

just moved to Colorado about 2 weeks ago, does anyone know a place I can take my car for emissions with a jdm swap? I dont want to deal with them looking under the hood,

If i have to pay extra, thats fine

What part are you in? What's your nearest testing facility?

Stay away from the one off 117th and main.
