yeah but what do you think of the photos. any feedback welcomed. i'm not in the same league as many here.

but yeah, it's a crazy amazing place. people don't actually check out books there any longer, they're too old, precious, and frankly out of date. also, here's a whacko fact about it, the books are ordered by SIZE from biggest on the low shelves to smallest on the highest shelves! the librarians do know where everything is, but the average person would have NO chance of finding anything. the library is at trinity college, dublin, by the way.

hmmmm...no pictures are allowed in the trinity library. this was 2 years ago when i was there though. has it changed?
not so say i didn't sneak one with my iphone.

that place is incredible. there's no way to describe just how tiny you feel when stepping in there without being there in person.

are you still in dublin? did you check out st patrick's cathedral? i got some pretty incredible shots from there.

no FLASH photos allowed was the policy there i believe.

didn't make it to st. patrick's, no, and not in dublin now. but i did go to the large blasket island at the end of the dingle peninsula. since 1953, there's been no one living on this island. but those building ruins are from when there were, for centuries. on the beach on the far left, the black line is SEALS.

Hmmm if I can nitpick, I'd straighten the vertical lines. My guess is that you used the 24mm end?

yes, please nitpick, slam, critique away!

yeah most likely at short end... here's another go, doing a bit of rotation / perspective correction...

Yes I like the last one the best. I was going to say the first edit cropped out the sculptures, but you were on top of that haha. This one works for me.

Personally I would use an ultra wide for these type of shots. I think the repetition of the shelves and all the converging lines would make for a striking image with the camera pointed up. Depending on the amount of people there, I might even try a slow shutter type of shot to capture the people running at feverish pace. I think that would be a nice juxtaposition between the tranquility of libraries and their animated guests.

Damn, you're lucky. The policy must've changed.
When I was there, absolutely no photography was allowed. They had workers there with a watchful eye to ensure no one took photos.

1) Was trying to sneak up on some geese to get some close shots but they flew off and I ended up with this:
