Hello Everybody,
I have three used mcintosh amps for sale (2) Mcintosh MC425 and (1) Mcintosh 427, here are the descriptions:
MC425 2 channels X 50w. Bridgeable. Includes built-in electronic crossover with selectable high pass and low pass filters. Power guard. MOSFET PWM power supply. Multi-stage thermal protection. Input level controls. Transient protection. Gold plated terminals. 2 ohm stability. Size 2-1/8"H, 11-1/4"W and 10"D. Sold from 1995-1997. Retail price $400.00

Your typical Mcintosh buyer is looking for good condition amps without scratches. The Mcintosh clientele is a distinctive buyer, so the normal price drop for scratches seems to be a bit exaggerated for the Mc buyer. I've seen this for years, a I am a Mcintosh user myself.
I'd expect about $600 to $700 for the set in their condition. That's why no one is jumping all over them. Also, since the "M" series with the meters came out, the old style Mcintosh amps resale seems to have dropped out. These are 10 years old and they've revamped the technology twice since '96.
Personally, I'd rock them because they still sound like the same old great amps they always have, but I'd be closer to the $600 range if I were to gain interest in them.
