i checked out the specs of those type r's and i think it will work out man. i have the opposite problem you have- i already have the 1000/1 but can't find subs to match with them. i think the type r is what i'll be going with.

yeah - I think that was me. Kaiser recommended them to me and I just picked up a few things (they even sell a nice stereo dash kit for the 2nd gen GS).
