Nice! Yeah if you look on the service log on the Lexus site, you will see that it has had most of it's schedule maintenance done in 5k intervals without unscheduled dealer trips. If your dad is in the market for one, I say it's a pretty solid choice. I live in MI, drove FWD for the first 3 years of driving (highschool), then switched to RWD just 2 yrs ago (during college). I like RWD a lot more, much more fun. However, it does get stuck quite easily. Get a good set of snows (which I have yet to do lol) and you should be fine. Plus, RWD makes you a sharper driver IMO, learning car control is very important.
Hey gray es300. Yes that sounds like the car. However, I am pretty certain the dealer sent it off to an auction not too long ago. That was my backup choice. Car had a good service history with minimal cosmetic damage (just some scuffs here and there). The dealer wanted 21.5k for it if they were to fix the blemishes which was a fair price. I would call them immediately and ask about the car. They are very friendly and easy to talk to. Good luck in your search. Find a clean one with low miles and you won't be disappointed. I know I'm loving my newfound toy!
there is a bearing in there that i think you should replace at your own discretion, just when you take it out, inspect it. last time i took mine out, it was rusted and it made a big difference in steering smoothness. i would say pick it up, just in case. as for the mounts, just inspect the rubber that you can see from the engine bay. if it makes noise, it'll probably have to be replaced.
The monroes are probably the only ones that will give you the oem ride with what seems like better than oem quality. however, it will not make the ride any stiffer than you are used to. I highly recommend them, they come with a lifetime warranty when i bought them from pepboys, ive replaced them once because of my cut springs i rode on for a while, no questions asked.
Hey Joseph. Saw your question on Car Chat. Yes, I did get rid of my SC430. Long story short: car had an out-of-warranty issue that I didn't want to deal with. Went practical with a Toyota. Gonna wait for the 3SC...
Im in Buffalo 2, do you know of anyone around our way that has a driver side door panel, or any other parts for the sc400? Im about to put her back on the road for the summer and need to grab a few things soon. any info would be helpfull.
