from the HU to amplifier so these last 2 years’ HU’s were different from the prior years. Is that true?
Although I am fairly handy, I would like to do a minimum of cutting/splicing and use the existing wiring as much as possible in my 2000 SC.
Would appreciate any advice you might have.

...Since you’re the resident expert on Lexus audio systems, I would really appreciate your recommendations on how to do this. One thought is to do the conversion with used 1999-2000 Lexus Nakamichi parts such as the head unit, amplifier, speakers (7), 6-disc changer although I preferred the 12-disc changer. I presume the 1999 and 2000 models used the same parts (?). I’m not sure if the Nakamichi speakers from my ’94 SC are the same as would have been used in the 2000 SC. I also think I read somewhere on Clublexus that the CD changer is the same for the Pioneer and Nakmichi systems in those 2 years. If this is correct, at a minimum, I would need to obtain the 1999-2000 HU and amplifier.
Another option which I’m not sure would work is to remove all the Nakamichi parts from my ’94 and put it in the 2000 SC. What do you think? I suspect the wiring may be completely different and require much more work.
I believe I also read somewhere that the newer (1999-2000) had a digital output

I have a 2000 SC400 with a Lexus Premium Pioneer system that I would like to convert to a Nakamichi system. I also have a 1994 SC400 with the Nakamichi system which sounds better to me and explains why I’d like to do the conversion. I’ve heard most people saying don’t bother with the conversion – just get aftermarket components but I’d like to keep it looking stock. The ’94 SC recently died so I wouldn’t mind using parts from this car...

I saw in a post earlier that you had mentioned that teh 92-98 sc400 amp going into protection mode was an easy fix. Would you be able to give instructions for that is it something I can do? I'm pretty handy but by no means an electronics guru.

Thanks in advance for your response.

I am replacing my gx470 navigation screen only because it stopped responding to touch. I was wondering if you could help me figure out how to seperate it from the bracket that holds it together from the radio. I have the whole piece out but am stuck on this point. I have researched for hours and discovered some posts from you. If not I understand, but thanks for the time

I read some of your posts here on the forum about the es350 navigation system. I currently have an 07 es350 without nav, but have an oem nav for this car and wanted to do retrofit. I was hoping you could sell me the custom wiring harness i saw you were wring about.

    Thank you
