Default air filter problem in SC430

I've got a 05 SC430. Recently, I had the oil changed at a neighborhood quick service. I specifically told the folks I didn't need the air filter changed, but when the car went in, one of the guys decided to pull the filter (behind the glove box). Then he must have put it back in. PROBLEM! He put it in wrong and somehow the cover slipped behind the glove compartment and the glove compartment cover was jammed open. I took the car to the local dealer and for $88 the tech fixed the problem. They did tell me that if the tray holding the filter (plastic) is broken by trying to jam the filter in, the cost to fix at the dealer is in the $3K range! Bottom line, be careful at JiffyLube!

As a mechanic for decades, rule number 1, I always tell folks. NEVER go to Jiffy Lube, et.al. There are execptions to every rule. But not often
