Question Need to Replace my 2 Fronts Axles

Hi,

Glad to have found this forum.

I've bought a second hand RX 350 model 2007 from a guy who purchased it from the US then brought it with him when he moved to the Middle East. That's why I need your help guys!

I need to change urgently my 2 front axles but the original ones are very expensive here (almost 900US$ each just for the parts) . Then I've found some good alternatives on the web ( around 180$ for the pair even cheaper!).

My question is, did anyone ever replaced his axles bought from these companies which produce "remanufactured OE" auto parts in the US? Did they fit (some of them are labelled "direct fit")? what about their resistance?
Please give me your feedback.

Thanks for your help

If the axles are just leaking grease without grinding, i would get a boot kit for your OEM axles. It is a messy job but you can be at ease knowing you have OEM parts.

I have had mixed results with aftermarket axles. They often fit, but the axle shaft may not be the same diameter, sometimes they have a tiny hole in the boot and grease leaks out soon, etc... its hit and miss.
Stateside, its convenient for these "lifetime" warranty axles if you live close to a autoparts store to exchange them when things happen.

Why get an aftermarket one? If you are going to cheap out, get the one that has the lifetime warranty at a local auto parts store. That way when it fails, you can just exchange it for a new one.
