Default Belt tension question

This question relates to my 2 Toyotas and not my SC300. (However, I may need to know this in future for the SC300.)

I have a Burroughs Belt tension gauge Model No> BT-33-73G. However, the Toyota manuals state that I should use a BT 33-73F (not G) to set the belt tension. Who knows what the difference is?

I thought that it might relate to belt thickness but can find nothing on the web about this?

Any help greatly appreciated.

should have around a 1/2 inch of deflection at it longest span......Previa.......I believe they have large wing nuts that you will have to turn to achieve proper tension
