Default Deep Scratch in Wood Steering Wheel

I just picked up a 2011 CPO GX and it has a very deep scratch in the wood steering wheel. It's about an inch long and right at 12 o'clock, so pretty obvious and annoying. It's not a little scratch in the poly, in fact it looks like it goes through the veneer and into the substrate. I say that because it has a green color to it.

So my question is, is there a particular stain that I can use that will match the "Auburn Bubinga"? I was thinking a wood furniture combo stain/filler stick with a poly top coat would make a decent repair, but I'd like a good color match.

Unless you must have the look/feel of your steering wheel and aren't against them, you could just get a steering wheel cover. I know this isn't a fix but at least it could be "out of sight, out of mind". Good luck.

I would go to a Woodcraft store or similar to it and ask for opinions. To make it easier, I also suggest to use a cover.
