My friend has '97 SC300. I had a couple of EGR codes. Replaced the EGR and vacuum hoses and am now down to just the P0401. When I pull a vacuum on the EGR, the engine does not stumble. From what I have read, it sounds like I may need to remove the throttle body or intake manifold in order to clean the EGR intake ports.

Does this sound correct?

Is there a step by step to removing what ever is required to clean the ports on a '97 SC300? I have seen instructions for other years / models and none of them look like this one.
