Dome fuse keeps blowing - WHY???
1992 Toyota Windom / LExus ES300
Can anyone help me with why my Dome fuse keeps blowing...?????????? or what I can do about it myself... or how I might be able to diagnose it...??????????/
I've replaced it with the correct 20amp fuse, it seems to last a day or few, and then I'll notice it's blown again when I try to use the mirror folding function or if I notice the interior light are not working....
I don't want to keep band aid fixing it with replacement fuses all the time I need to get to the cause...
Would soldering an extension to one of the battery cables cause such a problem???? I had to do this when I replaced the terminals and battery...

It sounds like you have a short somewhere... You need to figure out exactly what you are using when the fuse blows. Such as, folding the mirrors.. And then look into that circuit. Maybe unplug the mirrors, drive it a few days and see if the fuse still blows.. then move onto the next circuit. There are quite a few systems that run off of that fuse.. any one of them can cause the fuse to blow.
