Ive been doing some browsing and found nothing. i have a 1991 lexus es250. the car doors will unlock but wont lock. i tested the switches they are all working, and i replaced the power lock relay aka. the theft waring relay, ive tested all the wires, ground ect. when i press lock all the doors should lock, i dont understand. any information would greatly be appreciated
Have you tried giving the lock actuator itself voltage??? It should have two wires, you'll need to supply ground to one and +12v to the other, then switch them - one direction should lock and the other should unlock - if these both work, chances are one of the switches is providing +12 but not ground at the same time, making it look like the switch works but not completely...

THats a common problem in the 250, when I had mine, all 4 switches had to be replaced because of this. Isolate the bad switch and replace it and your problems will go away.

I just checked the switches and ground getting good continuity. I have found out that the ignition key for this car has been replaced and i think the theft deterrent system in the car may be deactivated does anyone know how to activate it? I could upload a picture of the electrical book
