IS300 buzzing noise when started
Hey guys, I just went and checked out and drove a 2003 Lexus IS300 the other day, and it drove perfectly, no problems with it at all, besides one little buzzing noise.. When I started the car, it immediately made a buzzing noise somewhere in the dash for like 2-3 seconds, then went away. It didn't make the noise again at all while driving, but when I got back, I turned the car off and restarted it to see if it would do it again, and of course it did. Has anybody else had this problem and/or know how to fix it? Please help me out if you can, thank you!

Most likely nothing to worry about, iirc, I looked into mine though and iirc, it was the abs pump or something like that doing a startup test...
i'll remember the next time I drive the car to listen...

im not 100% sure it's coming from the dash, it could be the engine bay to be honest. I am buying the car tomorrow though, so i'll listen more closely and try to diagnose it better, but yes, please keep me updated with that, maybe it's the same thing! thank you!

Every 1IS i have ever driven or been around does it. Its the abs pump as cody stated. I believe the pump is located on the firewall below the master cylinder in the engine bay.

okay thank you! do you have any idea how much it'd cost to replace it, or if it's even a big deal? like should i have to worry about fixing it, or just deal with the noise?
